Introduction

Pinterest is one of the largest sources of inspiration on the web, and Idea Pins have made the platform a major video surface alongside its iconic static pins. The platform does not give you a clean way to save a video from a Pin, and the in-app save flow keeps the file locked inside the Pinterest app. The SavDown Pinterest Video Downloader pulls any public Pinterest video in original HD quality, with the audio track intact and no platform branding. Paste a pin URL, save the file, that is the entire flow, and it works with pinterest.com, pin.it short links, and the mobile app alike.

02

What This Tool Does

Paste any public Pinterest video URL, pinterest.com/pin/…, pin.it short links, or the mobile app share link, and the tool pulls the source MP4 from Pinterest's CDN in the maximum resolution the uploader published. The file is a standard MP4, the audio is preserved, and there is no Pinterest watermark or platform branding. The whole flow takes a few seconds, and the result plays in any modern video player on phone, tablet, or desktop.

Key features

Built To Do The Job Right.

Every feature exists because someone needed it, and every one of them ships by default, free.

Original HD Quality

Pulls the file at the maximum resolution the uploader published, typically 1080p.

Audio Preserved

The native audio track, music, and effects are kept intact in the saved file.

Works With All Pinterest URLs

pinterest.com/pin/, pin.it short links, and the mobile app share link all resolve correctly.

No Pinterest Watermark

The saved file is the source MP4, without any platform branding burned in.

No Login Required

No Pinterest account, no app install, no permissions. Paste and save.

Anonymous and Private

We do not log which Pins you save, and we never notify the creator.

Benefits

Why People Actually Use It.

Beyond the headline features, here is what the tool unlocks in real workflows.

Inspiration Archival

Save recipe videos, decor walkthroughs, and DIY tutorials for offline reference, without pinning them to a board.

Pull clips into CapCut, Premiere, or Final Cut for editing, remixing, and repackaging.

Personal Reference Library

Save a clean local copy of every Pinterest video you reference regularly, organized by topic, not by board.

Brand Asset Libraries

Pull UGC and creator partnerships in clean, brand-ready files for case studies and pitch decks.

Backup Your Own Content

Keep a clean local archive of your own Pinterest videos before the platform applies any retroactive edits or takedowns.

Best practices

Use It The Right Way.

A few habits that consistently produce the best results.

  • 1Always credit the original creator if you repost, credit drives the platform and the creator made the work.
  • 2Save in HD when the source supports it. For recipe and DIY videos, HD makes a real difference for legibility.
  • 3For long-term archives, store the original Pin URL alongside the file so you can re-fetch if a higher-quality version appears.
  • 4If the download fails, the Pin may be private, deleted, or from a protected board. Public Pins always work.
  • 5Respect copyright. Only download videos you have explicit permission to reuse, or that fall under fair use.
  • 6Combine with our Pinterest Image Downloader for a complete Pinterest archival workflow.
